We are in immediate need of a Payroll Clerk for manufacturing companies located in Montgomery!

Responsibilities of the Payroll Clerk include:

  • Manage time keeping records in Kronos for Team Members on a daily basis accurately and timely.
  • Responsible for working closely with supervisors/Managers and other personnel to ensure that the time worked for employee has been reviewed and posted in the time keeping system.
  • Responsible for communicating with other departments to ensure employees titles, dept., pay rates and deductions are accurate.
  • Prepare and review clock reports upon request for supervisors to ensure accurate payroll processing each week.
  • Provide Employment wage verification for outside companies.
  • Conduct various internal audits when required.
  • Assist HR personnel with yearly manual updates to employees’ pay rates.
  • Capable of making decisions pertaining to Payroll and other HR issues.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Answer garnishment inquiries, when applicable.
  • Request manual checks when needed
  • Assisting employees with various questions regarding payroll including but not limited to direct deposits and damaged or lost checks
  • Responsible for calculating deductions from the employee’s payroll.
  • Responsible for sorting and distributing payroll checks.
  • Process approved time off vacation request, retro pay and shift differential.
  • Assist with any other duties as requested by Payroll Manager and/or Controller.

 

Qualified candidates for the Payroll Clerk will meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of and experience operating Kronos and ADP or similar payroll software.
  • Strong work ethic and team player with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with various levels of management.
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.

This is a temp-to-hire position.

Pay for this position is $12/hour.
