Benefits Administrative Assistant
Job Description
Are you familiar with insurance benefits and retirement plans? We are searching for a Benefits Administrative Assistant for a financial benefits company located in Montgomery. The Benefits Administrative Assistant will provide support and assist the Plan Administrators, Actuary and other financial staff.
What You’ll Do:
• Processing withdrawal requests (terminated or retired participants, participant loans, hardship distributions). This process involves research and verification of the distribution request, ensuring that all the required paperwork has been properly completed and authorized
• Responsible for filing all information in each client’s retirement plan files including correspondence, monthly accounting information, investment information and any other information required to be maintained for each client.
• Assist Brokers as needed by managing phone calls, filing and setting up appointments
• Responsible for answering incoming telephones calls
• Greeting guests when entering the office
• Perform other related clerical duties as assigned
Job Requirements
What You’ll Need:
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial and legal statements, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy/procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent with a high degree of competency.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables in standardized and non-standardized situations.
• High School education and higher
• Knowledge of Word and Excel
• Math proficiency
• Multitasking
• Professional telephone skills
The pay range for the Benefits Administrative Assistant is $15-18/hour depending on experience and skill sets.
