Calling all writers! If you are trained or experienced in forms of business writing, this is an excellent opportunity to build on your skills! A local, web-based liquidation company is looking for an Assistant Proposal Writer to join their team!

The Assistant Proposal Writer works closely with the Senior Proposal Writer as well as Business Development Representatives and others in departments across the organization to develop persuasive, compliant and thorough responses to RFPs to drive contract adoption and increase sales. They will perform detailed reviews of RFPs, write RFP summaries, and communicate with Business Development Representatives and Senior Proposal Writer to coordinate response plan for each solicitation. The Assistant Proposal Writer is integral to drafting proposals utilizing the content library and supporting business operations throughout the solicitation cycle.

Duties will include:

  • Analyzes Request for Proposals (RFPs) to define scope of service and identify requirements for proposal content
  • Works with Business Development personnel and management to prepare proposal plans that meet the objectives of each proposal and timeline
  • Creates drafts of each proposal section using Microsoft Word-based proposal template and content library
  • Extracts proposal metrics from CRM database, organizing and graphically displaying the data
  • Maintains quality results by using templates; following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone; maintaining proposal support databases
  • Incorporates review comments, and prepares final proposal sections
  • Prepares approved proposal for print and delivery by ensuring text, graphics, binding, etc. are quality and timely
  • Coordinates timely printing and delivery of proposals via electronic transmission or shipping
  • Schedules and tracks proposal milestones to ensure on-time submittal to commitment
  • Assists with updating and maintaining the CRM database
  • Maintains and updates vendor registrations and database
  • Performs other administrative duties, as needed

Qualified candidates for the Assistant Proposal Writer will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as English, business, marketing, communication, or journalism) is preferred; candidates may be credited for experience in such fields, or a combination of education and experience
    Experience in proposal writing, grant writing, technical writing, or other business writing is preferred
  • Excellent comprehension skills; specifically, the ability to read and understand contractual verbiage
  • Must have above-average proficiency in Microsoft Word, including formatting tools
  • Experience utilizing CRM software a plus
  • Experience effectively working under deadline is considered a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as to collaborate, while ensuring productive communication to managers and coworkers to keep team apprised of ongoing progress

Pay for this position is $15/hour.
